Meet Alice Ford
Alice Ford grew up catching fireflies in the woods of New Hampshire. Somewhere between a master's degree in environmental management and a stint as a stuntwoman getting chased by robots on Michael Bay film sets, she realized her real calling: showing people the world in a way that makes them want to protect it.
Today, Alice is the host and filmmaker behind Alice's Adventures on Earth, an award-winning PBS travel series that's part adventure documentary, part love letter to the planet. She's hiked solo through Patagonia, tracked mountain gorillas in Uganda, lived with Tanzania's last hunter-gatherers, and backpacked hundreds of miles of North America's most rugged trails. All while filming, producing, and editing the stories herself.
With nine Telly Awards, features on CNN and Amazon Prime, and millions of views across YouTube and PBS, Alice has built a career on one simple premise: the best way to inspire people to care about the planet is to show them what's worth saving.
She likes to say she's "a little like David Attenborough and Samantha Brown mixed with Indiana Jones." All together, she's someone who refuses to stay comfortable when there's a trail to explore or a story to tell.
When she's off the trail, Alice speaks at events, partners with sustainable brands, and advocates for conservation and responsible tourism. Her book, 100 Best Hikes in the World (Moon Travel Guides, Spring 2027), brings that same spirit to the page.
